Job description

Responsibilities

  • Create realistic 3D character body, face, hair, and clothing/armor meshes and textures
  • Sculpt human hair using Hair Card and Alpha Planes
  • Work from pre-defined concept art and designs
  • Collaborate with team members and provide/receive constructive feedback
  • Assist junior team members if comfortable with teaching
  • Attend team meetings via Slack

Requirements

  • Experience creating realistic human character meshes and textures
  • Proficiency in Physically-based Rendering (PBR) for game sculpting
  • Experience with low-poly/game-ready assets
  • Full texturing ability (Diffuse, Normal, Displacement, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 4
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (3DS Max, Maya, Blender, or similar)
  • Proficiency in 2D texturing software (Photoshop, GIMP, Substance Painter, etc.)
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills

About the Company

Epoch Games is a volunteer-based, all-online, global game development team. We are currently developing The Lays of Althas: Sundered Order (LoA:SO), an indie open-world RPG set in an original fantasy world using Unreal Engine 4.
