Accountant- Accounts Receivable

Responsibilities

• Own the school's fee billing and collections cycle from enrolment to banking, refunds, or write-offs
• Raise accurate tuition invoices including registration, deposits, and ancillary charges
• Apply discounts and scholarships based on signed authorizations
• Reconcile student rolls to the billing ledger monthly
• Record and allocate all receipts and manage post-dated or returned cheques
• Reconcile bank accounts and gateway settlements to the receivables ledger
• Execute the collections cycle including reminders, statements, and payment plans
• Handle sensitive fee conversations with parents discreetly
• Calculate refunds and withdrawal charges and prepare credit notes
• Produce aged receivables reports and support month-end close and audits

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or commerce
• 3 years in accounts receivable or credit control with high-volume individual accounts
• Strong grasp of receivables accounting, revenue recognition, and provisions
• Proficiency with ERP or finance systems and advanced Excel
• Clear written and spoken English with the ability to handle difficult financial conversations
• High accuracy, integrity, and discretion

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a school or family-facing fee-based service
• Experience with school billing systems such as iSAMS, Engage, or PowerSchool
