Accountant

Responsibilities

• Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities with precision
• Record journal entries and accruals accurately and in a timely manner
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Identify and investigate unusual fluctuations in account balances
• Reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger
• Document accounting policies and procedures
• Implement and uphold robust financial control procedures
• Monitor transactions for compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities for process automation

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or related fields
• ACCA, CA or equivalent certificate
• Experience in fintech, technology, or financial services sectors
• Proficiency in month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS)
• Strong skills in reconciliation and Chart of Accounts maintenance
• Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite software is a big plus
• Experience with Islamic Finance and shariah-compliant products is desirable
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
