About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate sociology courses utilizing innovative, student-focused teaching methodologies
- Lead efforts to update and enhance the sociology curriculum
- Conduct and publish advanced research in sociology in top-tier academic journals
- Apply qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in research and teaching
- Work collaboratively on interdisciplinary research initiatives and pursue external funding
- Represent the university at national and international academic conferences
- Foster relationships with industry partners for student internships
- Mentor and advise students on academic progress and career pathways
- Contribute to university governance through committee participation
- Participate in outreach initiatives to support the university mission
Requirements
- PhD in Sociology from an accredited institution
- Specialization in areas such as social statistics, economic sociology, crime, family, health, gender, digital sociology, or globalization
- Strong publication record in reputable academic journals
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- At least one year of experience as an Assistant Professor or equivalent teaching role
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English

- Commitment to professional development and sociological advancements
