Job description

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean, and optimize spoken-word audio for post-production delivery
  • Utilize iZotope RX and Pro Tools to diagnose, flag, and edit audio to client specifications
  • Communicate flags, discoveries, and qualitative/quantitative audio statistics to the team
  • Engage with technical teams on editing scenarios and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
  • Identify room tone inconsistencies, mic changes, phase issues, plosives, sibilance, and mouth noise
  • Detect clipped dialogue, formant damage, intelligibility loss, and over-processing artifacts

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in dialogue editing, audiobook, podcast, or spoken-word post-production
  • Proficiency in iZotope RX and Avid Pro Tools
  • Familiarity with spoken-word loudness standards (e.g., Audible/ACX targets)
  • In-depth knowledge of spectrograms
  • Access to a studio-level listening/monitoring environment
  • Ability to differentiate between performance issues and technical issues
  • Strong time management and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Acoustics, or a closely related field
