AVP-Ratings (Banking & Islamic Finance)

Responsibilities

• Manage and support ratings for a portfolio of conventional and Islamic banks
• Perform in-depth fundamental credit analysis of financial performance, asset quality, capital, funding and liquidity
• Lead Moody's Islamic Finance franchise across markets and stakeholders
• Analyse Sharia-compliant structures, profit-sharing accounts, displaced commercial risk and sukuk instruments
• Present credit recommendations at rating committees
• Write focused research on issuers, banking systems and Islamic finance developments
• Build relationships with senior management at rated institutions and regulators

Requirements

• Significant credit or risk assessment experience in a bank, rating agency or similar environment
• Strong understanding of banks and Islamic financial institutions
• Knowledge of Islamic banking and sukuk markets, strongly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
• Willingness to travel across the Middle East and EMEA
• Fluent English; Arabic beneficial
• Working knowledge of AI concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or MBA in finance, economics, accounting or Islamic finance
• CFA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification
