Back-End Developers

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and web services
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable and well-documented code
• Design, develop and optimize databases and data-access layers
• Integrate backend systems with third-party APIs, applications and services
• Implement appropriate authentication, authorization and data-security controls
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application and production issues
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing and performance testing
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure effective API and system integration
• Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, deployments and production environments
• Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization
• Contribute to system architecture, technical documentation and solution design
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and technical discussions
• Maintain version control and development workflows using Git
• Support continuous improvement of development processes, tools and technical standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• 3+ years of professional backend development experience
• Experience with one or more of the following: Java, C#, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, or PHP
• Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB)
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and containerization
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent programming and debugging skills
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and development principles
• Attention to detail and commitment to code quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines
