Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work across a Friday-Tuesday shift pattern (including the weekend)
• Develop highly-scalable mobile internet backends for millions of users
• Work with Project Managers and other development team members to determine new features and user stories
• Participate in code reviews with peers and managers
• Respond to support calls for applications in production for quick diagnosis and repair
• Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives
• Mentoring less experienced team members

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ Years within a relevant role
• Based within Europe or Latin America
• Strong experience with highly-scalable web backends
• Experience designing highly transactional systems
• Advanced proficiency in Object Oriented Design (OOD) and analysis
• Advanced proficiency in non-functional software qualities such as resiliency and maintainability
• Advanced proficiency in modern behavior-driven testing techniques
• Deep understanding of Microservices
• Proficient in SQL
• Expert knowledge of technologies like RabbitMQ, MySQL, Redis etc
• Strong experience with container and cloud solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes and AWS Cloud
• Excellent communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data and iBATIS
