Bursar Associate I

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with learners to maintain on-time payments of tuition and fees
• Post payments from all funding sources to the ledger
• Post relevant fees manually into the student information system (SIS)
• Update learner accounts to reflect refunds
• Manage and process learner ledger credits through stipend payments
• Update the SIS to reflect payments and ensure accuracy of the ledger
• Participate in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise

Requirements

• Some college required
• One year of entry-level accounting or finance experience
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with whole numbers, fractions and decimals

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or finance
• One year of customer service experience
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent
• Experience at a higher education institution
• Experience working with a ledger or accounts receivable
