About the role
Responsibilities
- Map and monitor academic institutions and research centres to identify partnership and sales opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Build and maintain a database of key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Conduct research on higher education landscapes, budgets, and policies
- Use Excel and Power BI to analyze datasets and extract actionable insights
- Manage the sales pipeline using Salesforce.com
- Respond to RFPs and generate customized quotes
- Create presentation materials, case studies, and value propositions for the sales team
- Collaborate with Marketing and Editorial teams to support regional outreach
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience
- Proficiency with Windows applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Strong organizational and pipeline management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to form strong internal and external partnerships
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior publishing experience
- Understanding of the higher education, research, or library environment
- Previous experience with CRM software
