Client Operations & IRS Resolution Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Own the firm's client tracker and practice-management system to ensure all tasks are assigned and client records are complete
• Manage the intake and onboarding pipeline including engagement checklists and records collection
• Coordinate with internal teams of preparers and accountants to track deadlines and flag slippage
• Maintain document hygiene and organized client files within portals
• Provide daily written status updates on project progress and risks
• Call the IRS Practitioner Priority Service (PPS) to obtain account data and summarize transcripts
• Prepare Collection Information Statements (433-F/433-A) and support installment agreements
• Execute disciplined follow-up on open IRS matters, notice deadlines, and hold expirations

Requirements

• 3+ years in a tax, accounting, or IRS-resolution practice or professional services operations role
• Direct experience communicating with the IRS via phone
• Strong documentation skills and a systems-oriented temperament
• Proficiency with modern cloud tools such as QBO, e-signature platforms, or PM tools like Financial Cents, Karbon, or Canopy
• English fluency

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrolled Agent (EA) status or currently on the EA path
• Fluency in Spanish
• Prior experience in M&A or client transitions
