Cloud Migration Engineer/Architect

Responsibilities

• Assess enterprise application portfolios and determine migration approaches using the 7 Rs framework
• Design secure, scalable, and highly available AWS GovCloud architectures
• Develop migration plans, dependency mappings, runbooks, and rollback strategies
• Utilize AWS migration services including MGN, DMS, DataSync, and Migration Hub
• Migrate applications, virtual machines, databases, and file systems to AWS GovCloud
• Deploy compute and container platforms using Amazon EC2, EKS, and ECS
• Design hybrid cloud networking architectures using Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and VPNs
• Develop infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC technologies
• Implement standardized environments using Landing Zone Accelerator on AWS (LZA)
• Implement micro-segmentation and security architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles
• Coordinate migration waves across cross-functional technical and business teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing AWS cloud architectures (preferably AWS GovCloud)
• Hands-on experience with AWS migration tooling (MGN, DMS, DataSync)
• Strong experience with EC2, EKS, ECS, and cloud-native architectures
• Experience designing hybrid cloud networking (Transit Gateway, Direct Connect)
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Understanding of FIPS endpoints and secure data transfer in government environments
• Experience with Landing Zone Accelerator on AWS and AWS Organizations
