About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation of an assigned kitchen area to meet service standards and guest expectations
- Assist the Chef de Partie or Sous-Chef in culinary operations and food production
- Follow standard recipes and plate presentation guidelines to maintain quality
- Ensure food hygiene, licensing, and safety standards are strictly upheld
- Monitor kitchen maintenance and report equipment defects or unsafe conditions
- Date and store food correctly while sanitizing equipment to ensure food integrity
- Control breakage, spoilage, and cost items
- Use kitchen equipment and knives skillfully following safe procedures
Requirements
- 3-4 years of working experience
- Minimum 18 months of experience in a Commis 2 position
- Culinary diploma or completion of a short culinary course
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to work flexible shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays
