Commis Chef 1

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operation of an assigned kitchen area to meet service standards and guest expectations
• Produce food products as instructed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
• Maintain clear communication with senior culinary staff
• Ensure food hygiene, licensing, and safety standards are strictly followed
• Monitor kitchen maintenance and report equipment defects or unsafe conditions
• Follow standard recipes and plate presentation guidelines to maintain quality
• Date and store food correctly and sanitize equipment to ensure food integrity
• Control breakage, spoilage, and food costs
• Use kitchen equipment and knives skillfully following safe procedures

Requirements

• 3-4 years of working experience in culinary roles
• Minimum 18 months of experience in a Commis 2 position
• High School diploma or equivalent professional training
• Ability to read and communicate in English
• Fluency in Spanish
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
• Ability to work flexible shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in environments with noise, dust, and cooking fumes
