About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the trade sanctions risk framework and screening methodology
- Act as the principal escalation point for high-complexity trade sanctions matters
- Lead the department's input into regulatory examinations and audit engagements
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of sanctions professionals
- Drive automation and process re-engineering for trade sanctions screening
- Ensure trade sanctions controls are integrated with the Group's broader financial crime compliance framework
- Manage budgets, resourcing, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment
Requirements
- Graduate with 10+ years of banking or financial services experience
- Extensive experience in Sanctions, AML, or Financial Crime Compliance in a senior capacity
- Deep knowledge of global sanctions frameworks (OFAC, EU, UK, UN, UAE)
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- ACAMS certification is desirable
