Compliance Officer

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance for UAE operations, including P2P trading, marketing, and promotions
• Monitor UAE regulatory updates and translate them into internal policies and procedures
• Oversee AML/CFT controls, KYC/KYB, CDD, and EDD processes
• Review advertisements, sponsorships, and branding for regulatory compliance
• Act as liaison with UAE regulators, external counsel, banking partners, and law enforcement
• Deliver compliance training and prepare audit reports, risk assessments, and KPI summaries

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 3+ years of compliance, legal, or regulatory experience
• Strong knowledge of UAE financial and crypto regulations, including AML/CFT and VARA
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or crypto preferred
• Fluent English; Arabic proficiency a strong plus
• Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and monitor activities evenings/weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer or compliance certification such as ICA or ACAMS
• Knowledge of blockchain technology and Web3
• Experience working with multinational teams
