Container Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define SLIs/SLOs and error budgets for the container platform
• Own the Operational Readiness Review process for platform changes
• Build and maintain platform automation, controllers, and operators in production code
• Design platform CI/CD and rollout primitives
• Implement security automation: intrusion detection, remediation, patch management
• Identify and eliminate operational toil through automation
• Evaluate and evolve the platform tooling ecosystem
• Participate in the on-call rota and drive incidents to resolution

Requirements

• 5+ years in platform engineering, Kubernetes operations, SRE, or production infrastructure
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, containerd, and the CNCF ecosystem
• Production software engineering in Go or a comparable systems language
• SRE practice: SLOs, error budgets, incident response, postmortems
• Multi-tenant system isolation: namespaces, RBAC, network policies, resource quotas
• AWS operation across multiple accounts, IAM, and VPC
• Infrastructure-as-code with Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building a multi-tenant Kubernetes platform for internal teams
• Familiarity with Kyverno, OPA/Gatekeeper, OpenCost, or Kubecost
• Experience with managed Postgres platforms
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana
