About the role
Responsibilities
- Extend the payroll and HRIS integration layer alongside the existing engineer
- Build direct integrations for providers such as Rippling and handle assisted connections
- Design background job pipelines with retries, dead-letter handling and visibility
- Support money movement and reconciliation with a payments and ledgering provider
- Build compliance-aware document workflows and employer and employee enrollment flows
- Make architecture decisions under ambiguity and document them for a small team
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-stack engineering building production web applications
- Early-stage startup experience and building from 0 to 1
- Regular use of AI coding tools with mature judgment about outputs
- Strong third-party API integration experience, including OAuth and write-back
- Relational data modeling for multi-step, multi-tenant stateful workflows
- Secure handling of PII and financial data
- Comfort deploying and monitoring a production service
Preferred Qualifications
- Payroll or HRIS integration experience, directly or via an aggregator such as Finch
- Background in HR tech, benefits, workplace giving or fintech
- Experience with ACH, ledgering or reconciliation
- Experience with SSO and identity providers (OIDC, SAML, Okta)
- Experience integrating with Salesforce or another CRM
