Controller

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
• Implement and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures in compliance with GAAP
• Work with external vendors to prepare annual federal and state taxes
• Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and long-term planning
• Monitor cash flow and manage treasury functions and funds flow
• Manage banking relationships and optimize cash position
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Oversee the annual audit process with external auditors
• Identify and mitigate financial risks related to contracts, credit, and operations
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate the accounting and payroll team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum 12 years of experience in accounting or finance
• At least 4 years in a leadership role
• Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
• Strong analytical skills and technological proficiency
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Ability to work in a remote environment with specific internet requirements
• Ability to work 8:30am – 5pm in the Central time zone

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
• MBA or other advanced degree
• Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in value-based or managed care
