About the role
Responsibilities
- Write advanced T-SQL scripts for MS SQL Server 2008–2019
- Review developers' SQL code and analyze execution plans
- Optimize database performance including queries, indexes, locking, disk, and memory
- Support and maintain an AlwaysOn availability group
- Help analysts and ML engineers with data access and retrieval
- Run routine database maintenance, archiving, and recovery strategies
- Monitor server performance and proactively prevent incidents
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server 2008–2019
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server architecture and internals
- Excellent T-SQL skills including stored procedures, UDFs, and triggers
- Proven ability to optimize SQL queries and functions
- Ability to read and understand code written by others
- Ability to independently identify logic errors from database structure and code
