Data Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Own MAGNiTT's core dataset end-to-end across all seven entities
• Define and maintain schema, data dictionary, taxonomy, and methodology
• Own data quality through validation rules, automated error detection, and cleanup workflows
• Build and maintain data collection tooling, including scrapers and news pipelines
• Prototype and validate derived fields and algorithms with the Data Scientist
• Design and run structured research workflows and delegate to the team
• Query internal databases using SQL to audit and QA datasets
• Oversee internal reporting and external data deliverables
• Work with product and leadership on coverage priorities and new data points

Requirements

• 5+ years in data-focused roles (analysis or operations)
• Experience managing or leading a small team
• Advanced SQL skills including complex joins and window functions
• Working proficiency in Python for data work (scraping, parsing, cleaning)
• Hands-on experience building or maintaining data collection pipelines
• Experience with entity resolution or record matching
• Project management experience for data collection and cleanup efforts
• Experience overseeing reporting/BI deliverables
• Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to data quality
• Product-minded approach to identifying coverage gaps

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using LLMs for information extraction or classification
• Experience with data licensing or data partnerships
• Familiarity with the venture capital or private capital ecosystem
• Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools
