Dean of the College of Law

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary and strategic leadership to advance the College's mission in teaching, research, and community engagement
• Serve as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College
• Lead curriculum development, program innovation, and periodic academic reviews
• Ensure compliance with national accreditation standards (e.g., UAE CAA)
• Lead the preparation, submission, and successful completion of accreditation reviews
• Recruit, mentor, and retain highly qualified faculty and staff
• Promote a culture of research, creative scholarship, and innovation
• Secure external funding to support research initiatives
• Enhance experiential learning opportunities such as legal clinics and moot courts
• Develop and manage the College's budget, resources, and infrastructure
• Build partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and legal institutions
• Uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical scholarship

Requirements

• Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Law or a closely related legal discipline
• Academic credentials and scholarly record suitable for appointment at the rank of Full Professor in law
• Significant senior leadership experience in higher education (Dean, Associate Dean, or Department Chair)
• Proven expertise in strategic planning, governance, and budget management
• In-depth knowledge of national accreditation standards (e.g., UAE CAA)
• Demonstrated success in curriculum development and innovative pedagogy
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience in international education and cross-cultural engagement
• Familiarity with the higher education landscape in the UAE, GCC, or MENA region is preferred
