About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead clinical procurement strategy for a late-stage program
- Partner with Clinical Operations to forecast vendor needs and plan sourcing
- Lead clinical vendor sourcing, evaluation and selection recommendations
- Structure competitive processes, due diligence and vendor evaluations
- Lead commercial negotiations and contracting for clinical services
- Establish scopes of work, budgets, service expectations and performance measures
- Build vendor governance, business reviews and performance improvement plans
- Monitor supplier capacity, financial health and delivery risks
- Support clinical budget development, cost analysis and spend management
- Lead and develop clinical procurement team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, life sciences or related field
- 12+ years in clinical procurement, strategic sourcing or vendor management
- 5+ years leading teams or major sourcing initiatives
- Experience with global, late-stage clinical development programs
- Demonstrated success in vendor selection and commercial negotiations
- Working knowledge of clinical trial operations
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or relevant professional certification
