Director, IT Engineering

Responsibilities

• Set the vision, multi-year strategy, and roadmap for platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and reliability engineering
• Build and scale platform engineering capabilities including cloud landing zones and infrastructure-as-code
• Lead cloud, multi-tenant, and multi-entity architecture
• Establish site reliability engineering practices and operational resilience
• Enable AI and data platform infrastructure
• Support M&A due diligence and integration
• Advance security engineering and regulatory compliance
• Manage annual operating and capital budgets, cloud consumption, and vendor commitments
• Recruit, lead, coach, and mentor high-performing engineering teams
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation through automation and simplification

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field
• Proven success in strategic IT leadership and talent development
• Experience designing and optimizing cloud and hybrid environments
• Strong knowledge of system administration, network infrastructure, and incident management
• Experience implementing security controls and technology governance
• Ability to manage budgets, vendor relationships, and technology investments
• Professional fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in multi-entity, regulated environments (higher education, healthcare, or financial services)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Databricks, and Terraform
• Working knowledge of ITIL, SRE, DevSecOps, FinOps, NIST, or CIS Controls
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or CISSP
