Director of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and full-stack systems for data pipelines and LLM-powered features
• Maintain and modernize GCP infrastructure, containers, CI/CD and Ruby on Rails
• Own integrations across data and business systems including Metabase and HubSpot
• Set delivery standards for PRs, testing, migrations and monitoring
• Build technical controls for data security, audit trails, HIPAA and SOC 2
• Manage, mentor and hire engineers, and onboard them to the codebase
• Use AI coding agents for most output and review agent work rigorously

Requirements

• 8+ years engineering leadership, or 5+ years in AI-native engineering teams
• 5+ years building production systems taken from design to customers
• Data engineering and LLM API or AI tooling experience in production
• Strong cloud experience, GCP preferred
• Ruby on Rails and typed client framework preferred; Rails with React also works
• Plain, direct written communication for non-engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare or regulated-data experience (HIPAA, SOC 2, audit trails)
