Director of Internal Audit Office

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessments
• Review academic and administrative activities for compliance with regulations and international standards
• Audit financial procedures, procurement, research grants, and scholarships
• Follow up on the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations
• Advise university departments on improving internal processes and institutional performance
• Lead and develop the internal audit team through training programs
• Ensure compliance with International Professional Standards of Internal Auditing (IIA)
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies
• Evaluate the efficiency of the university's internal control system
• Audit and monitor budgets and the movement of university funds
• Monitor and ensure proper inventory of university assets

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification (mandatory)
• Minimum of 10 years of audit experience
• At least 5 years in a leadership role within an academic or governmental institution
• Strong knowledge of higher education laws and regulations
• Familiarity with electronic auditing systems and data analysis tools
• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
