Director, Strategic Initiatives [Limited Term]

Responsibilities

• Build and prioritize a portfolio of external pathways to increase delivery capacity, including institutional data partnerships and payment provider arrangements
• Conduct primary diligence on opportunities and provide defensible recommendations to advance or stop
• Advance selected priorities from evaluation into live pilots, managing counterparty relationships and internal coordination
• Define and run competitive solicitations and RFPs, including setting selection criteria and evaluating responses
• Negotiate with institutional counterparties such as UN agencies, INGOs, mobile network operators, and government bodies
• Produce analysis and written recommendations to equip Executive team decision-making

Requirements

• Director or Team Lead-level experience in consulting, strategy, or operations within business or social impact contexts
• Proven ability to take broad mandates and turn them into pressure-tested recommendations and clear strategies
• Strong analytical instincts and ability to use data to generate insights and build comparable estimates
• Experience as a negotiator who can assess institutional incentives and compliance requirements
• Clear, direct communication skills to influence senior stakeholders with concise, well-structured thinking

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with humanitarian or institutional donors, UN agencies, or INGO consortia
• Knowledge of mobile money, telco, or payments partnerships
• Experience with grantmaking, organizational due diligence, or cost-effectiveness assessments
• Experience negotiating data-sharing and data-protection agreements
• Experience operating in low-income or infrastructure-constrained markets
