Embedded Linux Consultant Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute publicly to open source projects to ensure technical leadership
• Analyse client problems and design solutions leveraging open source technologies
• Define and scope client projects in collaboration with the delivery team
• Act as a technical advisor discussing Linux core system technologies with clients
• Represent the company at conferences and trade shows
• Perform deep technical work including software development, integration, debug, and testing

Requirements

• Broad Linux experience (uBoot, Linux kernel, BSP, Yocto, Debian)
• Knowledge of open source development methodologies and communities
• Knowledge of ARM processor-based embedded systems
• Experience with system image creation tooling (debos, wic) and OTA technologies
• Experience with software development for embedded Linux systems
• Experience with modern CI tooling (GitHub, GitLab)
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
• Ability to work in a fully distributed environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Debian system creation
• Experience with the Rust programming language
• Experience setting up secure/trusted boot chains
• Experience creating A/B boot systems or atomic upgrade schemes
• Experience with base hardware bringup of new ARM devices
