Engineering Manager (Acquired Products & VPN)

Responsibilities

• Lead technical onboarding of acquired products from due diligence through transition and steady-state ownership
• Assess inherited architecture, infrastructure, security, and technical debt
• Build and improve a repeatable engineering acquisition playbook
• Hire, coach, and grow engineers while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous delivery
• Use Agentic AI as a force multiplier for the team
• Manage delivery through 2-week sprints and clear OKRs
• Advocate for unit/integration testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years managing engineers or acting as a hands-on tech lead
• Deep expertise in mobile (Android/iOS) or backend (Go, Python, Node.js) technologies
• Experience with infrastructure (Terraform, Docker, AWS)
• Experience leading technical acquisitions or product migrations
• Proficiency using AI coding agents and tools
• Strong communication skills for interacting with executives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience running a consumer VPN or privacy product
• Experience managing distributed, remote, multi-timezone teams
• Experience with subscription businesses (Stripe, RevenueCat)
• Experience with compliance programs (SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA)
