Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6-8 engineers across the SSH client, web application, and backend services
• Own technical architecture across the stack, including frontend systems, terminal/SSH client patterns, and backend service design
• Drive engineering process, including sprint cadence, code review, and incident response
• Partner with Product on roadmap, tech debt prioritization, and sequencing work
• Stay technical with approximately 20% hands-on contribution
• Hire and build the engineering team
• Communicate technical risk and tradeoffs to founders, product, and design teams

Requirements

• 5-10+ years of engineering experience, with meaningful time as a senior engineer or tech lead
• 1-5+ years managing engineers directly (hiring, 1:1s, performance management)
• Strong full-stack technical depth (frontend architecture, backend service design, API contracts)\n- Track record of building process from scratch in a startup environment
• Experience with hiring and team-building
• Pragmatic, ownership-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at an earlier-stage startup (Seed-Series B)
• Background in developer tools or infrastructure tooling
• Exposure to AI/LLM-powered product surfaces
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Python, and AWS
• Customer-facing experience
