Engineering Manager, Automation Intelligence

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering plan for Beta to GA to standalone launch, including estimates, sequencing and readiness evidence
• Define and prove the service's operating envelope: throughput, latency, rate limiting and availability SLOs
• Run a weekly detection quality loop with test corpora, FP/FN testing and regression coverage
• Drive coverage of AI agents, crawlers and automation prioritized by customer exposure
• Manage, coach and grow a team of senior engineers and run hiring
• Operate the agent-first development model with human review on critical paths
• Ensure contract-first APIs with OpenAPI, breaking-change detection and generated SDKs

Requirements

• 3+ years managing software engineers, including shipping products through launch
• 8+ years in software engineering
• Domain depth in bot detection, fraud prevention, web security, browser engineering or high-volume APIs
• Measurement-driven engineering with precision/recall or FP/FN tracking
• Hands-on use of AI coding tools
• Experience working with product managers, researchers and customer-facing teams
• Clear written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Bot detection, bot management or anti-automation product experience
• Familiarity with AI agent ecosystems and verified-agent protocols
• Browser internals or headless automation framework experience
• API-first products with public OpenAPI specs, SDKs or MCP surfaces
• Experience forming a new team from an existing one
• High-growth SaaS experience with enterprise customers
