Engineering Manager, Billing

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-trust, globally distributed Billing team
• Manage 1:1s, performance management, and career development for direct reports
• Own the Billing roadmap and project management in Linear
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to hire and onboard new team members
• Lead incident coordination and blameless post-incident reviews
• Balance new pricing capabilities with system correctness and technical debt

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience with depth in complex systems
• 3+ years of experience managing remote engineering teams
• Proven track record of managing billing engineering teams at a cloud, SaaS, or developer tools company
• Experience with subscription lifecycles, usage-based billing, and payment provider integrations (e.g., Stripe, Orb)
• Ability to operate as a multiplier and coach engineers rather than direct them
• Strong asynchronous communication and writing skills
