Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development
• Set technical direction and help define the roadmap for your team
• Guide architecture and review critical design decisions to build scalable, reliable, and secure production systems
• Partner closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and engineering leadership to drive complex initiatives
• Leverage AI-native development tools to increase engineering velocity

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production software systems
• 2+ years of experience managing or technically leading engineers
• Strong technical depth in distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, or modern web application development
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, ambiguous technical initiatives from strategy through execution
• Proven track record of operating effectively in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Strong cross-functional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building AI-powered or AI-native products involving LLMs or agentic workflows
• Experience using AI coding tools to accelerate software development
• Experience in an early-stage startup or as an early engineering hire
• Experience in insurance, fintech, or enterprise SaaS
