Engineering Manager - Solutions Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a globally distributed team of Python engineers
• Hire, coach, mentor, and manage hands-on career development
• Contribute code directly and demonstrate sound engineering principles
• Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects
• Set expectations with engineering, operations, and stakeholder teams
• Advocate for modern agile software development practices
• Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
• Travel globally up to 10% for internal and external events

Requirements

• Track record of developing and growing engineers
• Knowledge and passion for agile software development
• Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring Python developers
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies
• Comfort administering Linux servers, storage, and networking
• Hands-on experience with software automation
• Organizational skills with focus on high-quality, timely delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field
• Thorough understanding of modern infrastructure, including OpenStack or Kubernetes
• Experience in operations as well as software development
• Familiarity with challenges of large-scale, multi-cloud operations
• Go expertise
