About the role
Responsibilities
- Find and ship cost savings across AWS and GCP infrastructure
- Build and maintain the BigQuery/dbt FinOps data pipeline
- Build cost-vs-revenue and customer segmentation models
- Apply forecasting and anomaly detection to cost and usage data
- Build and maintain cost attribution, tagging and chargeback
- Automate cost governance with Python, Terraform and Lambda
- Partner with engineering on cost-aware architecture decisions
- Support Finance with forecasting, budget tracking and dashboards
Requirements
- Strong AWS expertise and working GCP knowledge
- Data engineering depth with dbt, BigQuery and SQL at scale
- Data modeling for analytics, including dimensional modeling
- Statistical forecasting and anomaly detection fundamentals
- Automation and scripting in Python, Terraform, Lambda or Bash
- Comfort with AWS Cost Explorer, CUR and GCP Billing Reports
- Clear communication to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a cloud cost management platform such as CloudZero or Vantage
- Experience with Linear, Notion and Hex
