Forward Deployed Engineer, UAE

Responsibilities

• Embed with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges
• Build and deploy custom implementations including AI Voice Assistants, Telnyx APIs, and WebRTC
• Run open-weight LLMs in customer environments and deploy self-hosted stacks
• Deploy and operate LiteLLM as the model gateway in customer environments
• Instrument and govern LLM usage through the gateway
• Wire production observability for everything shipped using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
• Design model routing strategies for real-time voice workloads
• Adapt models to customer domains including prompt and RAG pipelines for Arabic and English
• Lead POCs, pilots, and production launches
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap based on field insights
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues alongside customer teams

Requirements

• CS degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software
• Proficiency in multiple languages: Python, Node.js/TypeScript, or Go
• Practical understanding of production LLM failure modes and rate limits
• Comfortable deploying containerized services on Kubernetes
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, ELK)
• High-concurrency experience with Kafka, message queues, or event streams
• Experience building APIs from scratch (OpenAPI, REST/GraphQL)
• Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice/messaging systems
• Customer-facing engineering experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Arabic
• Based in Dubai or willing to relocate
• Legally authorized to work in the UAE

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI voice assistants, STT/TTS, or LLM-based conversational systems
• Hands-on production experience with an LLM gateway (LiteLLM, Portkey, Kong AI Gateway)
• Familiarity with the open-weight model landscape and regional Arabic-language models
• Experience with inference serving engines (vLLM, SGLang, TGI, Ollama)
• SQL proficiency (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle)
• Background in telecom, CPaaS, or high-growth SaaS
• Experience with sovereign or on-prem cloud deployments and UAE/GCC regulatory frameworks
• Security mindset (IAM, encryption, audit logging)
