About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform early-stage review and investigation of suspected fraud cases from internal teams, partners, banks, and merchants
- Execute first-level fraud operations including case intake, data gathering, and escalation of suspicious activities
- Review customer applications, transaction behavior, and documents to identify red flags, forgery, or impersonation
- Support investigations and conduct initial fact-finding across reported and system-generated alerts
- Assist in the preparation of internal escalation forms in line with internal policies
- Ensure all investigations are documented in accordance with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with Operations, Customer Support, and external law-enforcement agencies
- Support AML/KYC obligations and regulatory disclosure reviews
- Maintain accurate case registers, investigation logs, and evidence repositories
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Fraud, Financial Crime, or Risk
- Availability for a 5-day working week with rotational weekend shifts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess large data sets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (filters, pivots, lookups, data analysis)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to transaction monitoring, card/payment fraud, or financial crime operations
- Experience in a bank, fintech, payments, or regulated financial services environment
- CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certification
- CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certification
- ICA Certifications or CAMI / GoAML programs
