About the role
Responsibilities
- Produce complex simulations including smoke, fire, explosions, liquids, and destruction
- Use Houdini effectively for optimized and adaptable effects
- Propose artistic solutions aligned with project vision
- Ensure cache optimization and setup stability
- Collaborate with Pipeline team and other departments like lighting and compositing
- Provide realistic estimates and communicate risks to production
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in FX within a VFX studio
- Mastery of Houdini (Pyro, Flip, RBD, Vellum, SOPs)
- Basic knowledge of compositing (Nuke) and rendering (Arnold and Karma)
- Knowledge of USD and Solaris
- Strong sense of movement, physics, and visual rhythm
- Asset: Knowledge of Flow Production Tracking, Python, or VEX scripts
