About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Group accounts payable function across the business
- Manage the end-to-end supplier payment cycle and reconciliations
- Monitor aged payables, disputes and unapplied payments
- Act as key Finance contact for transport suppliers and capacity buyers
- Coordinate supplier-payment requirements with Finance and Treasury
- Directly manage, coach and develop a team of 6 AP employees
- Maintain payment controls and improve AP processes and reporting
Requirements
- Experience managing an AP function in a high-volume, multi-entity environment
- Previous team-management experience
- Strong understanding of supplier reconciliations and AP ageing
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship-management skills
- Strong Excel and ERP/accounting-system capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in logistics, transport or freight forwarding
- Experience in Africa
