Head of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Translate company and product objectives into a 1-3 year engineering plan and execution roadmap
• Create the engineering organizational structure and recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent
• Set engineering-wide standards for planning, estimation, and delivery
• Own technical architecture, infrastructure, security, and technical debt
• Manage the engineering budget, including headcount, vendors, tooling, and cloud cost
• Own SOC 2 and broader security and compliance posture across engineering

Requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering, with 7+ years leading engineering managers
• Experience building and scaling engineering organizations in high-growth environments
• Hands-on background with cloud-native architecture, containers, and infrastructure as code
• Experience owning security and compliance programs, including SOC 2
• Strong communication of engineering strategy and risk to executives and board members

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in marketplaces, e-commerce, B2B SaaS, or enterprise platforms
