Head of Engineering (Red Team)

Responsibilities

• Build and scale a scalable red-teaming engine including tooling, products, services, and agentic systems
• Manage, mentor, and support a growing team of engineering and red-teaming ICs
• Plan sprints and lead engineering execution
• Identify and execute on technical and teambuilding opportunities to scale impact
• Partner with technical leadership to translate strategy into scalable engineering plans
• Contribute to the overall technical and product strategy of the red team

Requirements

• Strong track record in software engineering, AI, or computer engineering (e.g., cybersecurity, MLOps)
• Experience managing, growing, and leading technical teams (0 to 1 and scale-ups)
• Proficiency with tech stacks including Python, LLM APIs, and cloud infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes)
• Ability to thrive in rapidly evolving and ambiguous environments
• Demonstrated drive for mission-driven impact
• Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or red-teaming frontier LLMs or agentic systems
• Experience building technical teams in an entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to discover high-severity vulnerabilities in complex systems
• Experience in adversarial ML or security
• Published work in AI safety, security, or robustness
