About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as Head of Legal for Cigna Middle East and Africa
- Influence business leaders on legal and regulatory matters to support MEA business objectives
- Provide timely, accurate legal updates to MEA senior leadership
- Support, coach and develop the MEA legal team
- Draft, review and advise on contracts, group plans, partnership and distribution agreements
- Manage claims, litigation and dispute resolution
- Champion the Cigna Ethics program
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership experience interacting with senior leadership and external counsel
- Minimum 10 years post-qualification legal experience, including 4 years in an international law firm
- Excellent drafting and negotiating skills for complex legal agreements
- Experience running complex, multi-party transactions end to end
- People management experience including coaching and mentoring
- Solid understanding of the Middle East regulatory and legal framework
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
