About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute trading strategies for refined petroleum products
- Identify, negotiate, and close profitable transactions
- Structure trade finance deals and manage Letters of Credit (LCs)
- Oversee maritime operations including chartering and ship-to-ship (STS) transfers
- Manage relationships with shipping agents, port authorities, and logistics providers
- Monitor market trends, price movements, and geopolitical developments
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with global and regional suppliers
- Ensure compliance with local and international trading and shipping regulations
- Identify and mitigate trading, credit, and operational risks
- Capitalize on new trading opportunities in West Africa
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Energy, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in oil & gas trading with a focus on West Africa
- Expertise in trade finance and managing credit risks
- Solid track record in shipping and logistics (STS transfers, port management)
- Established network of industry players in Cameroon, Nigeria, and West Africa
- Proficiency in both French and English is highly desirable
- Strong analytical, strategic, and negotiation skills
