Job description

Responsibilities

  • Perform inpatient coding audits and review services on a variety of inpatient facility record types
  • Identify coding trends and formulate recommendations for corrective action plans
  • Conduct research using online searches, CMS transmittals, and program memorandums to support findings
  • Provide in-service education to clients regarding identified coding trends
  • Assist in designing and presenting educational seminars to clients and staff
  • Support senior-level projects including ICD-10 assessment, tool development, and coding content creation

Requirements

  • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification
  • 2-5 years of experience performing inpatient facility audits and reviews
  • Previous coding experience
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use audit software securely in compliance with HIPAA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for webinars and conference calls
  • Ability to work independently and remain impartial in audit findings
