Internal Controls Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of the internal control framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements
• Drive the internal controls strategy to encompass operational finance, reporting, and balance sheet integrity
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial processes including R2R, P2P, and O2C to identify and address control gaps
• Oversee the governance of balance sheet reconciliations and enforce controls around balance sheet accounts
• Perform regular risk assessments and maintain risk and control matrices (RCMs)
• Design and implement preventive, detective, and automated controls
• Act as the primary owner for addressing control deficiencies and lead root cause analysis efforts
• Serve as the internal controls subject matter expert in the region and liaison for internal controls initiatives
• Promote standardization of policies and control documentation across various regions
• Identify opportunities for control automation and optimization using ERP systems
• Ensure audit readiness by maintaining high-quality documentation and facilitating control walkthroughs
• Develop and present actionable insights to senior leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification
• 8+ years of combined relevant audit, internal controls, and/or SOX compliance experience, including Big 4 experience
• Demonstrated expertise in fundamentals of internal controls, audit & testing design
• Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical modeling and analysis
• Proficiency in COSO framework and U.S. GAAP
