Internal Investigator

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and manage internal investigations involving employee theft, fraudulent returns and policy violations
• Use exception-based reporting and investigative tools to identify patterns and prioritize risk
• Conduct non-accusatory, fact-based employee interviews and obtain written statements
• Analyze transaction, refund, gift card, video, RFID and ecommerce data to corroborate allegations
• Prepare concise case reports and executive summaries
• Safeguard evidence and coordinate with HR, Asset Protection, Retail and Legal
• Support restitution and law-enforcement referral processes

Requirements

• 5+ years in internal investigations, asset protection or loss prevention
• Experience with exception-based reporting for employee theft and fraud
• Current Wicklander-Zulawski interview certification
• Experience with video, POS, inventory/RFID and ecommerce order data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Integrity and discretion with confidential information
• Ability to travel, including periodic overnight travel
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business, security or related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-unit retail experience
• Experience with Appriss, Aspect or Agellance platforms
• Shopify or comparable ecommerce platform experience
• Certifications such as CFI, LPC or CFE
