About the role
Responsibilities
- Meet weekly with each assigned mentee (about 1 hour/week)
- Provide structured feedback on interpreting samples
- Guide mentees in setting short- and long-term professional goals
- Support mentees in ethical decision-making, language fluency and professionalism
- Collaborate with program leadership to monitor progress
- Maintain clear records of meetings, goals and outcomes
- Attend occasional mentor check-in sessions (remote)
Requirements
- National certification (RID, BEI, or equivalent) in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of interpreting experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication and feedback skills
- Ability to support diverse learners respectfully and culturally
- Reliable internet and tools for virtual meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior mentoring, teaching or supervising experience
