About the role
Responsibilities
- Shape the Wikimedia Foundation's product security strategy and strengthen organizational security culture
- Drive priorities for a team of engineers focused on security and privacy
- Design and develop technical features to protect users and the platform from bad actors
- Communicate strategically with community members regarding security and privacy work
- Establish working relationships with volunteers and act as a conduit between the community and the Foundation
- Partner with leaders in other departments to shape the overall information security posture
- Stay up to date on current developments in online security and privacy
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in product-building teams
- At least 2 years of experience in a security-focused role
- Significant experience using AI-based tools for security analysis and technical tasks
- Proficiency with command-line-based tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage diverse responsibilities in a dynamic environment
