Lead Roblox Developer

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Roblox games from concept through release and updates
• Design and build gameplay systems, mechanics and features in Roblox Studio and Luau
• Create core loops, progression systems, economies and monetisation
• Prototype and iterate based on playtesting, feedback and performance data
• Set development priorities and coordinate a small team
• Collaborate with programmers, artists and other specialists
• Optimise performance across client and server
• Use AI tools to accelerate development while reviewing their output

Requirements

• Strong hands-on game development experience with personally delivered work
• Strong technical game design skills
• Proven experience shipping games or major gameplay systems
• Experience taking responsibility for a game's development and quality
• Understanding of gameplay feel, retention, progression and monetisation
• Experience leading developers or coordinating a small team
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Roblox Studio and Luau experience
• Experience with UI, audio, VFX, optimisation, tooling, LiveOps or large-scale Roblox experiences
