About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide legal opinions to senior management on decisions and policies
- Monitor implementation of laws and regulations from the Ministry of Higher Education
- Draft and review local and international contracts and agreements
- Oversee compliance with internal regulations and federal/local legislation
- Develop internal policies regarding labor law, data protection, and intellectual property
- Represent the University or coordinate with external law firms in litigation
- Manage and resolve legal disputes through settlements or court proceedings
- Provide legal consultation to colleges and departments regarding student or staff matters
- Review and update internal bylaws and regulations
- Track legal and legislative updates and conduct awareness sessions for staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law
- Minimum of 5 years of professional legal experience
- In-depth knowledge of UAE federal law, labor law, and education regulations
- Fluency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Strong legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Law or a related field
- Experience within academia or government institutions
